52 Frames - Week 8, 9, and 10 - Edmonton Photographer

So, I had originally planned to post my weekly challenge photo every Monday, but life has gotten in my way and I've totally slacked.

The flu has made it's way through my family, one by one, so the last few weeks have been a bit scattered.  But we are all doing much better and I'm ready to get back into it!

Also, the countdown to spring has began. We have our seeds planted, and they have already sprouted. I'll have a bit more on that in another post, I hope.

So without further delay, here are my photos from weeks 8, 9 and 10. I'm hoping to not fall too far behind with these again, but no guarantees! haha.

Week 8 - Religion

I'm not religious at all. Religion is something that I've questioned a lot in my past, and struggled with a bit, but in the end, I've just decided it's not for me. So I tried to think about something in my life that is a sort of religion. A constant. Something to turn to in good times, and hard times. Something I am faithful to and that guides me. Similar to a religion for people. For me, that's music. I'll admit, my idea was a bit cliche, but I went with it anyways. I grabbed some of my favourite albums and my trusty headphones and came up with this:

Week 9 - Negative Space

I started this week off shooting one of my close friend's beautiful wedding. And seriously, what a wonderful wedding. Full of style, friends and family, and succulents! Since I didn't shoot at all this week after the wedding, I decided to use one from it for this week's photo.  We hit up the amazing HSBC Parkade downtown for some formals and it did not disappoint. The weather was a bit cloudy, but we totally lucked out temperature wise for a winter wedding. How about that gorgeous couple!

Week 10 - Pattern

This week was all about pattern. I was hoping to get outside and find some great patterns with buildings or bridges, but due to the flu, it just didn't happen. I am not sure if I even left my house this week, so my photo was a bit of a stretch, I'm not going to lie. Anyways, I thought I'd try to capture the pattern on this peace lily's leaves against our freshly primed white wall (have I mentioned how excited I am to have nice bright walls, finally?!). I combined a bit of last week's topic (negative space) too.

That's all for now! It's hard to believe we are already more than 10 weeks into the new year. They have just flown by faster than I was expecting. It will be green, and sunny, and warm before we know it!

Are you looking forward to spring as much as I am? I'd love to know what your favourite thing about the spring season is in the comments below!
